I think Xbox 360 exclusives in Japan have more to do with Microsoft buying the exclusivity. To their credit, they haven't given up on Japan. I guess they figure eventually one of their games is going to have a breakthrough. Be on the lookout for Star Ocean 4 to be a big hit.

I hope the chain bonus thing is like the one in FFXII where you kill more of the same enemy and get better loot to drop, the higher the chain goes. I loved that feature.
Anyone who knows anything about Japanese gamers knows that Dragon Quest has always been more popular than Final Fantasy. While Final Fantasy games change like the seasons, DQ games are very traditional in their approach which is the main appeal it has to Japanese gamers.
Plus they have to save something for the sequel although I still hope they plan on making Rogue Galaxy 2 as well.

I guess I'm one of the few people that actually liked Star Ocean 3. The beginning was boring but it really picks up after you leave the first planet. I definitely plan on getting SO4 as well.
